If you've searched "best AI video tools for brands," you've seen the same list: ten products ranked on one scale, CapCut through Opus Clip through Bevyl, as if they all do the same job. Those ten products belong to three different categories, and flat output usually comes from picking a tool in the wrong one.
Check your shared drive. If you run social at a beauty or food and beverage brand, there are probably 15 to 20 unposted clips in it right now: a founder testimonial shot on a phone, three demo angles from last week's shoot, a few creator unboxings that arrived by email. That footage is scattered across separate files, and most tools on any "best of" list were built for a single long recording.
The three categories:
- Manual editors (CapCut, Canva, Descript): you make every cut yourself; the software makes cutting faster.
- Clip tools (Opus Clip, Vizard): you feed in one long recording and get many short ones back, styled by template rather than by anything learned from your brand.
- Brand-video tools (Bevyl): the tool learns your brand first, then edits your raw footage into shorts end to end.
Pick from the wrong category and your account starts looking like every other account running the same trend template.
Manual editors: CapCut, Canva, Descript
CapCut gives you multi-track cutting, stock effects, auto-captions, and a large template library, free per their site. It also leaves every decision to you: which clip opens, where each cut lands, what the caption says, one video at a time. For the full breakdown, see our CapCut review and CapCut alternatives.
Canva is a design tool first. Its video editor was added on top, and you feel it in motion, sound sync, and vertical templates, which lag the aspect ratio and safe zone handling a video-first tool ships by default. More detail in our Canva review and Canva alternatives.
Descript edits talking-head content, podcasts, webinars, and screen recordings by deleting words from a transcript. That workflow is real, and it stops there: no vertical video focus, nothing built around product demo or unboxing footage. See our Descript review and Descript alternatives.
All three can store brand elements at some tier β Canva's Brand Kit, CapCut's Team-plan brand kits, Descript's Brand Studio β but fonts, colors, and a logo are where the help stops. Every time you open the app, you re-decide what your brand sounds like.
