Your team already runs on Canva. The launch deck, the Reels cover, the graphic for the holiday drop all ship out of it without a designer.
Canva does AI video now too: text-to-video, background removal, auto-assembled edits from your uploads. A hundred million people have the same tools, and the auto-editor gives your unboxing footage the same pacing, captions, and transitions it gives everyone else's.
If you post TikToks, Reels, and Shorts that have to look like your brand, here are six Canva alternatives and who each one fits.
What Canva does well
- A free tier deep enough to run a small brand on, with a template for almost any format.
- Anyone on your team can produce a clean graphic on day one, no training.
- Magic Studio covers video: text-to-video, background removal, auto-assembled edits, and dubbing. The stronger models sit on paid plans, per their site.
- Shared workspaces, approvals, and brand kits on paid plans.
- Decks, graphics, and short clips in one tool, so a two-person team stays out of five apps.
Where Canva falls short for brand video
Canva's video templates ship to its whole audience, so your templates are also your competitor's. Auto-assemble a clip and the pacing, transitions, and captions come from the same defaults every user gets.
The limits show up when you build a weekly cadence on it. Per their site and 2026 reviews, generated clips run short, the stronger model sits on higher tiers, and AI credits are shared across all of Magic Studio, so a Pro plan burns through them fast. Nothing enforces your fonts, colors, or tone, which means someone on your team checks every export by hand.
Pricing, per their site: Free is $0, Pro is $15 a month, and Business is $20 per user a month with a seat minimum. Canva changed pricing in 2025 and may again, so confirm before you budget.
The alternatives
1. Bevyl, for brands that need on-brand short-form at volume
Bevyl trains on your brand in about five minutes: upload past content, set your preferences, then hand it the product shoots and UGC already on your drive. It runs the full edit and returns short-form with your fonts, colors, and tone held on every clip, so the manual review step Canva leaves you disappears. Brands on Bevyl report 10x more videos published, 95% less editing time, and 50% higher views, with one tool replacing five to seven.
Bevyl edits real footage. If you have nothing shot and want a video from a text prompt, a creator-focused generator is the better tool. See pricing or book a demo.
2. Descript, for podcasts and talking-head clips
Descript edits video through the transcript: delete a sentence in the text and it drops out of the cut. For podcasts, webinars, and founder interviews, that is the fastest path from an hour of recording to short clips with clean captions. You still pick and sequence the clips yourself, and its AI voice cloning deserves a policy check before client work.
